Hill Country Bible Church’s second core value is “Engaging Generations.” To us, this means to promote effective ministry to all seasons of life and still encourage each member of our church family to think past their individual life stage, extend connections, and build bridges with other generations in the church. How are you doing this personally, and how are you being prompted to do something more or different?

Hill Country Bible Church’s first core value is “Responding to God’s Word.” How important is this value to you personally? If you think about how you spend your time during a typical week, you’ll be able to gauge how intentionally you’re prioritizing your time based on God’s Word. 

Our culture pushes us to fill our brief lives with busyness; however, God’s wisdom compels us to live one day at a time. When we live with intentionality, following God’s direction, we pursue contentment, optimize suffering, and extend our legacy. Are you living your life one day at a time?   

When you think of rejoicing, what comes to mind? With God, rejoicing is a response of deliverance and it should be a way of life. If this isn’t your experience, what can you do to increase your level of rejoicing in your daily life?

Do you find it difficult to feel God’s goodness when you’re going through a hard time? As we see in the Psalms, we’re commanded to praise and give thanks in all circumstances. One way to make this is a practice is to begin each day by thanking God for three things He has done in your life and to “say so” to encourage others.

How does worshipping God through trials, troubles, and terrors develop a bigger view of Him? A big view of God results in a big commitment to God. Considering this, how you can increase your view of who God is in your life, so that He can become a bigger presence. 

When you have committed a sin, how do you think God views you? In the Bible, we see examples of those who have sinned, appeal to God for forgiveness, and ask Him for the power to change. God is merciful, willing to forgive, and able to help you from lapsing back into sin.

We all go through seasons where we let sorrow get us down. A person’s greatness is not measured by their talent or their wealth, but by what it takes to discourage them. How do we find hope in God during a time of discouragement and depression? 

To live out Hill Country’s mission, we meet people where they are, we build relationships around a table, and we bring people to Jesus. Consider your own life. How well do you do this? As you move forward, ask God to bring people into your life so you can live out this mission.

Do you hear God speaking to you? And, if so, how do you discern His voice from the other “voices” within and around you? God speaks to each of us in personal ways through his Word, nature, and many other ways. Consider how you can best position yourself to hear God’s voice.
