When you consider Jesus’ command to love our neighbors, do you think He meant we should love our actual neighbors? Now consider the positive impact we can have in our neighborhoods, Greater Austin, and beyond if we loved, served, and engaged with them in a Christ-like way. The problem is that most Christ-followers lack close relationships with people who don’t know God, including those living in our own neighborhoods or working alongside us.
Studies show that 60% of the Greater Austin population identify as a Christian, while only 17% identify as born-again believers and are engaged in an evangelical church. This means many of those we live, work, and play with are far from Christ, creating significant opportunities for us to share Jesus’ love with those God has placed around us. To do so requires a clear vision and intentional plan for building relationships with our neighbors.
