FAQ

What is Courageous Parenting?

Courageous Parenting equips a like-minded community of parents who are committed to raising kids who are disciples of Christ rather than products of the culture. Together, parents encourage one another and help each other make Courageous Choices that will shape their children’s faith and grow Christ-followers who are distinctively Christian in a culture which is distinctively not Christian.

Who is Courageous Parenting for?

The curriculum for Courageous Parenting was written for parents with kids 10 years old and younger, with a particular emphasis on 4–7 year-olds; all activities and discussion questions were written with this target age group in mind. As you pray and consider if Courageous Parenting is a next step for your family, please do consider the age range of all your children. While parents of older kids have used the curriculum, it requires work from the parents to adapt the content to fit their family situation. We typically recommend that you base your decision on the age of your oldest child.

For example, in Guide Their Media Habits, we do not address social media because this is not a common concern of parents of preschool/early elementary children.

If you have questions if Courageous Parenting is a beneficial next step based on the age of your kids, please reach out to us at [email protected]

Can my Small Group go through Courageous Parenting together?

Yes! We think it is great when your existing community grows as parents together. We would be happy to pair your group with a mentor. Please reach out to us at [email protected] and we can work with your group from there.

Will childcare be provided for the Small Group?

As with all Small Groups at Hill Country, members are responsible for organizing their childcare. However, we're here to assist! Mentors (if applicable) and participants will collaborate to create the best childcare plan for the group, and we'll provide plenty of options to choose from. Your mentors are already thinking through potential options, but you can view this document to get some ideas.
