Creativity is a Call to Worship
ARTpact is a group of Christian artists. The purpose of our ministry is to bring fine art back into the Church to bring glory to God and build up the Body of Christ.
Our goal is to help artists see and experience the value of working in the Holy Spirit as they create artwork. Our members encourage prayer in the art process. We work toward these goals together, each using unique God-given gifts.
We encourage visual artists to grow in their artistic abilities by developing their skills and learning new techniques through outside practice and instruction, workshops, collaborations, and mentoring.
Apply
Artist Exhibit Agreement
1. PARTICIPATE IN ARTpact
Applicants need to be older than high-school; all fine artists are welcome to apply.
For consideration:
Five images of an applicant’s completed ORIGINAL artwork must be submitted along with a brief statement of core beliefs (religious affiliation, spiritual background or expression of faith). You will be able to submit both of these items on the application. The gallery committee will determine whether an artist is a good match to participate with our group for gallery exhibits.
Artist Responsibility:
We encourage artists to volunteer or contribute when asked. We are a completely volunteer organization and we rely on volunteers to help install and/or breakdown exhibits. It is the artist’s responsibility to read the Materials and Presentation Guidelines for exhibitions. (See the link at the bottom of this page.)
Guest Artists:
“Guest artists” are those artists in the community who are invited to submit one or more selected pieces for an upcoming exhibit.
2. ARTWORK ACCEPTANCE
Artworks will be accepted based on:
Aesthetics
Space availability
Original artwork
G-Rated artwork only
3. RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR ARTWORK
The artist is solely responsible for transporting artwork to and from the gallery on the due dates.
The artist takes all responsibility (liability) for the work hanging in the church and shall not hold HCBC, ARTpact or any individual leaders or members of the group responsible for any damage, loss, or theft of the artwork.
We request that all artwork remains in the exhibit for the duration of the exhibit showing. For extenuating circumstances only, to request an exemption consideration, the artist should contact the gallery committee or director at least 15 business days in advance of the deadline via email. If approved, the artist is responsible for providing a replacement piece of the same artist, skill, size, and color for the duration of the exhibit.
It is the artist’s responsibility to review the Materials and Presentation Guidelines.
