Support Groups

We're offering free online support groups facilitated by members of our counseling team specific to some of the most current challenges we are facing in during shelter in place.

A support group is a group of people with common experiences or concerns who provide each other with encouragement, comfort, and advice. We currently have four support groups we are preparing to offer you during this challenging season. This will not be counseling but will be a place to be connected with others in the community who share your current challenges, heard and encouraged.

If you are interested in joining one of these support groups, please reach out to the contact person below and they will give you more information concerning dates and times.

Marriage

Contact Bryan Snead, MA, NCC, LPC Intern, LMFT Associate
Supervised by Cristy Ragland, M.A., LPC-S, LMFT-S
[email protected]

Marriages are particularly vulnerable to stress and strain during this time. So, we want to provide a safe space to process how you and your spouse are managing your relationship and, in most cases, increased and extended time together. Join other couples looking for tips and tools to make sure their marriage is strengthened as they navigate this unprecedented season.

Anxiety

Contact Staci Reichmanis, LPC
[email protected]

Do you feel anxious in our current environment? Anxiety is a common feeling for many people right now, so if this is you, know you’re not alone. And there are tools and coping mechanisms that can help replace your anxiety with peace. Join others seeking relief from anxiety, while together you learn ways to regain control of your thoughts.

Single Adult

Contact Sangeetha Thomas, MA, LPC Intern
Supervised by Sarah Walters, MA, LPC-S
[email protected]

Being single during COVID-19 can present additional challenges, in that you might feel particularly lonely and isolated. While you might feel alone, you’re truly not alone. There are many singles looking for community and encouragement during this time, and we want to offer it. During this online support group, you will connect with other singles who share many of your same feelings.

Young Adult

Contact Sangeetha Thomas, MA, LPC Intern
Supervised by Sarah Walters, MA, LPC-S

Are you a young adult looking for a community to help process how you’re experiencing this challenging time? Is the disruption in your life, job, school, relationships, etc. leaving you feeling isolated, fearful, or uncertain? If so, this group will offer an outlet to work through your current “new normal” with others in a similar situation.

Parents Who Have Become Homeschoolers

Contact Amanda Tipps, Graduate Intern
[email protected]

In our current landscape, many parents have found themselves in a new — and maybe uncomfortable — role of homeschooler. The demands of homeschooling might have you feeling anxious, uncertain, and even frustrated. Know that you don’t have to navigate this journey alone. In this group, you can openly and safely share your feelings around your current reality of being a homeschooler.
