Community Impact

POVERTY

Hope for the Whole Family

At Community Impact, our foremost priority is to actively support and uplift the community. By mobilizing the dedicated members of Hill Country Bible Church to engage in service, we earnestly pray that countless individuals will come to hear and embrace the transformative message of Jesus Christ.

Our purpose is to network and support ministries, churches, businesses and individuals to work together to demonstrate and proclaim the Gospel for all people by addressing real needs.

Benevolence Ministry

Our Benevolence Ministry provides assistance navigating life's challenges. If your financial issues have become too overwhelming, let us help you in tackling that challenge. We can walk with you as you make decisions and connect you with other ministries or agencies that can support you in your time of need. The Benevolence team assesses requests for financial assistance from individuals in need and then works with them toward a solution, which may include providing temporary, short-term assistance.

At this time, we are not receiving any new applications for benevolence assistance as we are currently reevaluating the vision, policies, and procedures for this ministry. We are taking this step in order to better serve both our church body and our community in the future.

If you are a current and active member of Hill Country and are in need of support, you may contact Joyce Penick to share more about your situation. You can do so by contacting our main office at (512) 331-5050. Our Benevolence team would love to walk alongside you—not only to help you work toward financial stability, but also to help you connect in ways that lead to lasting growth and the thriving life God desires for you. We can help connect you with a financial class, provide resources for job enhancement, or help you find a small group where you can receive support and encouragement.

We appreciate your understanding, and we are praying for God’s guidance and provision in your life during this time.

If you are not an HCBC church member, please contact https://www.211texas.org/ or https://www.findhelp.org/ or https://www.crctwinlakes.org/ for resources available in the Austin Metro Area.

  • Bags of Grace is a ministry focused on serving the homeless in Austin. This ministry is for everyone (from kids to seniors). Bags of necessities are prepared that include food, water, and hygiene products. These bags are then subsequently distributed to the homeless in and around Austin. For example, the bags can be prepared on a Saturday afternoon at the HCBC campus. The following day the bags can then be distributed at Church Under the Bridge under an overpass of I-35 near downtown Austin.

All of us want to help when we know there is a need, but many people are reluctant to hand money to someone with a sign on a street corner. A Bag of Grace provides basic but valuable items to those on the street, who are truly in need. A Bag of Grace, however, is more than just a meal. It's a chance to connect with another person, even if just for a moment. It's a chance to let those in need and/or homeless know that they are not forgotten or thrown away.
