God created the institution of government to bring good to the people and restrain evil, Romans 13. That same passage tells us He has sovereignly placed each person in their role in government as a servant, minister or shepherd, depending on the translation. The Church Ambassador Network of Texas strives to inspire the Church to engage with government to advance the Kingdom, by connecting the shepherds of the Church with the shepherds of government.
We get to know them first as a person created by God, second as a shepherd of government in their role, and third, we build partnerships that address the challenges in our society. Government was designed to address physical problems, not the broken spiritual underpinning beneath them. That is the role of the Church, bringing the gospel, God’s Word and God’s people to the table, showing where God is already at work and how we can expand it.
