About Us: Our church has a vision to offer professional counseling along with excellent pastoral care to this community to help those in need find an anchor to weather the storm of life. Life’s burdens can be so heavy to carry sometimes, and we find ourselves needing support and guidance. You are not alone, and we all have struggled from time to time. In our humanity, one thing we tend to do when we are overburdened is isolate ourselves, but as a ministry of Hill Country Bible Church, we want to come alongside you in your time of need and embrace the power of community within the Body of Christ on the road to healing. We believe in the life changing reality of Jesus and want you to know that there is nowhere you can go where God cannot find you, no height or depth that could separate you from His love.
Our Team: Our counseling team is made up of three staff members that include our Pastor of Congregational Care and two LPC’s (Licensed Professional Counselors). Additionally we have built a training program of competent, non-staff members who are completing their licensure in either their Graduate School Internship or their post-graduate internship for their LPC Intern and LMFT-A licenses. As such, our center is a training ground for young professionals in the field who are seeking to utilize their spiritual gifts and professional skills to serve the Body of Christ.
Professional Counseling Internship: We believe in giving life to the next generation of counselors by providing a training center that welcomes professionals who value education, uphold tight ethics set by our Board, and desire to integrate research-based psychology with the beauty of theology. Our program includes weekly training, weekly group supervision/consultation, and individual supervision. It is through those vehicles that we work with interns on how to think through and practice competently within a theoretical framework, specifically Bowen Family Systems. We believe growth happens in healthy community that allows authenticity as well as autonomy with a backbone of excellence to build a practice.
We only take on selective interns that we believe would be a good fit, both theologically and professionally, for our ministry. In light of this we are looking for interns who share in the vision of Hill Country Bible Church; who are wanting to grow in their own integration of faith; and who desire to minister to our church body who are requesting Christian counseling. If you are interested in being considered for our leadership development program for your graduate internship or your post graduate internship to fulfill your LPC Intern or LMFT-A hours, please contact the Director of Counseling, Lindsey Werner, LPC, at email@example.com.
