PACT: Partners Against Child Trafficking

Join the Fight Against Child Sex Trafficking

Visit Website

Partners Against Child Trafficking (PACT) is a ministry that is uniting communities to bring an end to child trafficking by raising awareness, preventing victimization and reducing demand.

Since 2015, we have trained over 3,830 community members on how to detect, report, and prevent child trafficking. We have sponsored 58 Student Ambassadors, awarding 3 scholarships this past June for outstanding projects. We have also sponsored the Spanish translation of the Shared Hope Bible Study on trafficking. In addition, we have sponsored trauma counseling for 2 survivors, provided 600 Little Red Bags to shelters, and delivered 345 bags of supplies and hotline cards to the high risk homeless community.

This coming year, we are expanding our PACT Ambassador program by introducing a scripture-based and secular curriculum for teens and delivering specialized training programs, including one for CASA volunteers. In January, PACT will start The Conquer Series, a course geared towards helping men renew their minds and find freedom in purity.

Specific volunteer needs: Advocacy, Building leadership among students, Education and Training

Education

Education Connection

Every Child Reading by the End of 3rd Grade

Serve as a Literacy Partner or Mentor

A few years ago, the church community asked city leaders what we could do to make a lasting impact in our city. The answer was simple: help fight illiteracy and school dropout rates. Last school year, more than 966 volunteer literacy partners and mentors served nine school districts across Central Texas, sitting down with elementary students each week for 30 minutes to read one-on-one. With the program growing rapidly and with more and more children in need of special attention, there’s a place for you to make a difference in a child’s life and education. Consider investing just 30 minutes a week in a school near you, and bless the life of a child.

Register Here

Registration for the 2018-2019 school year is open now at Education-Connection.org. When you register, you will receive instructions for an online training session that will prepare you to begin serving as a Literacy Partner.

Evangelism & Equipping

Apartment Life

Support or Become a CARES team

"We all have a need for genuine community, and nothing beats the frequency, availability, and spontaneity of connecting deeply with others who live nearby." -The Art of Neighboring, by Jay Pathak and Dave Runyon

Visit Website

Apartment Life believes that a community can be radically transformed when a single CARES Team intentionally invests in the lives of neighbors and combines heartfelt service with joy, fun, and authentic relationships. It’s that simple!

Each CARES Team (a married couple, family, or two single adults of the same gender) moves into an apartment community and partners with the management team to deliver the CARES program. Through the CARES program, the team has the opportunity to build community and serve residents by doing things that flow naturally out of the Christian lifestyle – welcoming new neighbors, planning social functions, building spiritual relationships, and CARE-ing in times of need.

You can get involved by serving as a CARES Team member or volunteering to support these teams and help at special events.

Kids Are Making a Difference with Bags of Grace!

bags-of-grace-bday-partyYoung Addison came to a Bags of Grace assembly and was so moved, that she told her mom that instead of presents for her birthday, she wanted to invite her friends for a Bags of Grace assembly. All of her friends got Bags of Grace shirts and they assembled bags at her party. We’re thankful for Addison’s servant heart, and how she is already demonstrating what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus!

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.” Matthew 25:35

You Never Know Who Your Cheerful Giver Will Be

Bags of GraceMeet Bailey. He has been homeless for many years but found Christ in 2010. Bailey was speaking with Bags of Grace Ministry Leader Lori Thomas about how much he has been blessed over the years by the Bags of Grace ministry and the people he has met who minister under the bridge. He said that he really wanted to give back to help others and asked to make a donation. The picture shows Bailey and Lori as he pulled out a $100 bill and joyfully gave! The team were all surely blessed by this cheerful giver that Sunday! What a testament of God at work.

Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Cor. 9:7
