2 Corinthians: Cracked Pots and Crazy Love

We will have the opportunity to continue to grow in our Bible study skills as Lisa Horn walks us through the book of 2 Corinthians.  This is one of the most personal of Paul's letters. His words bring a needed reminder of God's sufficiency in the midst of tough times as he pursues this church even during a season of misunderstanding and conflict. 2 Corinthians confronts us with our own cracked and broken places and calls us to a crazy love that can redeem the biggest mess!

Colossians:Take Root/Bear Fruit

Cindy Hawks will walk us through the book of Colossians, where we will sink ROOTS deeply into the essentials of our spiritual growth and celebrate the FRUIT that God will bring forth in our lives and in the lives of those we connect with.  We’ll not only uncover the life-changing truths of Colossians through “inductive bible study,” but we will also learn the life-long tools that will help us continually connect with and hear from God in our individual lives.

Biblical Sexuality

Our culture has distorted both the beauty and the uniqueness of God's design for our sexuality in a way that has left women and men alike confused, hurt, obsessed, disinterested, or a combination of these.  We need to look at our sexuality from God's perspective:  What is His perfect design?  How has this design been distorted or marred?  And how can we recover the beauty of His original intent, whether we are married or single, and pass it on to our children?  Eleven weeks on sex, you ask?  You'll be amazed at all of the fascinating and truly life-changing principles God has to show us in this intimate area.  Even if you come to this topic with a lot of personal pain or with a lot of personal experience, you won't be alone and you don't want to miss it!

Do you ever feel like the harder you try to control your life, the more out of control it becomes? How about your husband, boyfriend, children, girlfriends, work compadres? Ever get aggravated because you so know what is best for them and they just don't listen to you?! Or maybe you're at the opposite end of the spectrum. Your life is so messy, you just don't really care anymore! Your motto is, "Organized people are just too lazy to look for things." Most women struggle with control issues in some fashion or another. In this 10 week study, we'll explore at a whole new level, what the Bible says about really experiencing freedom in Christ - down to the level of all those things in our lives we try to control.

Biblical Womanhood

What if you were asked to walk the most important path you would ever walk...blind-folded? Beginning Fall 2008, pastor's wife Cindy Hawks will lead us on a journey to peel away the blind-folds and examine foundational truths about our core identity of being women. We will discover not only the many ways we are shaped and developed as women, but also God's design for women in today's culture. This study will reshape what many of us have grown up believing and challenge us to look at our path from a fresh perspective of biblical truth. Along the way, we will experience fellowship, hospitality, and encouragement.

Fascinating Women of the Bible

They are businesswomen like Lydia, or spiritual leaders like Priscilla. They are esteemed in leadership like Miriam and Deborah or shunned and disrespected like the woman at the well. Every woman today—married or single, happy or brokenhearted, secure or shaken—will find at least one of these biblical women to be surprisingly like herself. Join us as we study real women who will come alive as we compare and contrast their lives to reveal their character and what we can learn from each of them. There will be a lecture, homework, and discussion groups to grow, challenge, and encourage you and your new friends in the Lord!

We want to get to "there:" a better love for God, a better relationship with a daughter or son, a better way to talk with a boss, but we don't know how. Mapquest for Life is a 10 week study designed to give some basic directions on how to get from where you are now to where you want to be using God's Word as our guide.
