what's going on
Next school year your eighth grader is heading to High School! This is such an exciting time in their life as they begin the next chapter in their journey and Student Ministry wants to help make this transition as smooth as possible!
WHAT: A fun opportunity for our students and parents to meet our High School Pastor, JT Eldridge, and some of our upperclassmen High School Student Leaders. We'll have swimming (modest attire), food and games.
WHEN: May 18, 6:00pm - 8:00pm
WHERE: Home of Bryan & Michelle Irvin (520 Kodiak Trl., Cedar Park, TX 78613).
DETAILS: Drop students off at 6pm and return at 7:30pm for a quick Parent Connection meeting and pick up of your student. Please RSVP to Amy at amancuso@hcbc.com if your student will be attending.
We have created the “Graduation Dessert” so that both parents and the church can honor our seniors who are graduating from High School.
RSVP by May 6th to Amy Mancuso at amancuso@hcbc.com include:
- A current high-resolution, jpeg picture of your graduate with their name and high school
- A brief message (55 words or less) from you to your student
- An RSVP on whether you and your spouse will be attending with your graduate for dessert

- And Much More!
What can you expect at theRESPONSE?
-
Music that inspires us to worship. Some songs you'll probably know...others will be new. Original worship music is also featured, written by some of the musicians and leaders of theRESPONSE. We believe that something transcendent and unique happens when a community of people "own" something together - especially songs that are born out of the desire to lift the Name of God in a single, bold voice.
-
Good art that edifies the created and glorifies the Creator. Local and national artists are featured during the hour through various art forms - video, photography, and fine arts.
- Communion. Remembering the cross in this way is important to us. We do it every time we meet.
We believe the Bible teaches that each person who has placed their faith in Jesus Christ should publicly share their commitment to Him through baptism (Acts 2:41 and 8:12).
Baptism:
- Symbolizes Christ's burial and resurrection (Colossians 2:12)
- Represents our death to sin through the blood of Jesus Christ and our new life in Him (Romans 6:3-4)
- Was modeled for us and instructed to us by Jesus (Mark 1:9; Matthew 28:19)
Our Student Ministry Baptism Class occurs monthly on every second Wednesday at 6:00 pm - 6:45 pm in Room 1.112. To sign up for the next Baptism Class, please contact Amy Mancuso or at (512) 336-4317
Students learn leadership skills and teamwork as they prepare to lead Backyard Bible Clubs to impact lives. Not only will you minister to kids and families during Backyard Bible Clubs, you will also grow in your walk with Christ as you serve others. Boot Camp is a time to gel with your team and learn to lead clubs well. Students are challenged to give their summer away to serve Christ. Students who attend Boot Camp are also committing to serve July 9-12 for Backyard Bible Clubs.
