Emerging Leaders
growing the next generation of Christian leaders
Our Vision
The Emerging Leader Residency at Hill Country Bible Church exists to grow the next generation of Christian leaders into missionally minded men and women who are committed to leading people on their faith journey.

Who We Are
Our residents are recent college graduates who are interested in exploring what it looks like to do vocational ministry. Our residents come to us from all over the United States. It is a diverse group of young men and women who all share the common goal of serving others and living lives of irresistible influence.

What We do
This is a 12-month residency that exposes young leaders to ministry on a church staff as well as a number of learning experiences designed to develop a lifelong missional worldview. The ultimate goal of the residency is to grow emerging Christian leaders into individuals who are passionately committed to reaching the unreached in every part of their lives and fully equipping them to do so.
For one year, residents will be on staff with HCBC working in ministry while also engaging in shared learning experiences. Each resident will have the opportunity to lead new entrepreneurial initiatives while also being mentored by staff and lay leaders. This experience is uniquely designed to both grow young leaders and allow them to thrive with opportunities to lead missional outreach efforts.
Some of the shared learning experiences include working alongside a church planter during the launch phase of a new plant, a short-term mission trip, discipleship, spiritual and professional development, and involvement in a number of other churchwide initiatives.
The 2010 residency begins on Monday, August 23. It is a paid stint on staff with full medical benefits and each resident residing in community housing. It is more than a full-time job…it will be your life for 12 months. The combination of learning experiences with the ministry assignment will not only encompass a work week but will include evenings and weekends.
Our prayer is that this experience will develop these young people into effective mentors and leaders in whatever setting they are in.
Our 2010-2011 group of Emerging Leaders are set to begin on August 23, 2010. Check back in January of 2011 to apply for the 2011-2012 Emerging Leader Residency.
