Church Planting
"What if a church fell in love with the Gospel so fully that it fell in love with its city?"
The Gospel was meant to change everything. We love our city, and want it to be changed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As a church that wishes to demonstrate its love for the city, we rally around a compelling vision:
That every man, woman, and child in Greater Austin has the chance to experience the life-changing reality of Jesus Christ because they hear the Gospel from the lips of someone at a Hill Country Bible Church.
It took eleven years for HCBC to plant four churches; but they came to the conclusion that if the entire city was their responsibility, they needed to accelerate their efforts and re-assess their strategy. In only took another five years, and they were at twenty-two, and had launched a strong multi-site campus.
Even now, three new residents are coming aboard: one Hispanic, one African American, and one anglo. All will be sent to a part of the city to live out and proclaim the gospel in ways that make sense to that new geography.
Tim Hawks often says, "We are not just trying to plant a good church; we are trying to plant a church planting church....that's part of a movement." This paradigm shift necessitated the establishment of a Church Planting Training Center that would coordinate the assessment, training, and deployment of church planters.
Hill Country can now boast of planting a church....that has planted a church....that has planted a church. HCBC Pflugerville and HCBC Round Rock have become church planting churches in their own right!
For information on how you can become a part of a future church plant team, sent to a new part of the city, please email the Church Planting office or call 512.336.4301.
