In the City
"If our church was not here anymore, would anyone notice... would anyone care?"
We want to answer these questions by being a solid rock in our community by giving of ourselves and demonstrating unconditional love to those in need. We do this by partnering with organizations that effectively seek to help individuals and families throughout the Austin area. Our desire is to connect to members of the community through service, while building lasting relationships that demonstrate in a real way, God’s unfailing love.

The Leander Independent School District has asked Hill Country Bible Church NW to collect 2800 backpacks for every child in the district grades K-4 on the free and reduced lunch program. Knowing the generosity of our church, we faithfully have set out to do just that and we need your help! We are not collecting school supplies this year, as the district is able to purchase supplies in bulk.
Please send donations of new backpacks with your children to Basecamp, The Edge or bring your donation to the church parking lot on August 8th or you may go online to donate for the purchase of a backpack, at the amazing price of only $5.00. To donate click here. To volunteer on August 14th at the LEO Center in Leander to help distribute the backpacks, please click here.
We have four teams of people that are needed to make this event successful. We need a team on Friday afternoon, August 13th, to help sort school supplies and set up for Saturday. Then on Saturday we need three teams, in two hours shifts. One team will help the families move through the line, and pick a backpack and supplies; one team will be the inflatable team, monitoring the inflatables and visiting with families; and the third team will be the refreshment team, moving throughout the line bringing water, and passing out popcorn, while visiting with the families. This is a great opportunity to give back to the community and show them the love of Christ. Our Spanish ministry will be there, and we encourage families and REALife groups to serve together.
