Child Dedication
Through the Milestone of Parent Child Dedication, parents publicly commit to raise their child in a way that honors God, ultimately providing opportunity for the child to enter into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It is also a time for the church family to commit to partner with the families in discipling the next generation.
During Parent Child Dedication, parents are asked the following questions:
- Do you commit, through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to allow the life of Christ to be lived out through your family?
- Do you commit to communicate the truth of the gospel in a way that your child has the opportunity to enter into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ at an early age?
- Do you commit to fulfill your role as the primary discipler of your child, training your child to worship and serve God and to be obedient to His Word?
In turn, the church family is asked the following questions:
- Do you commit to partner with these families in raising the next generation of disciples of Jesus Christ by equipping, encouraging, and supporting them?
- Do you commit to set an example for these families by modeling faith in your words, actions, and relationships, so that they can follow you as you follow Christ?
